Endorses Dia Carabajal For New York State Assembly

Auburn, NY - Today Dia Carabajal, Democratic Nominee for New York State Assembly in the 126th district announced that her campaign is endorsed by Michael Quill, Mayor of the City of Auburn.

"Representation in Albany is critical to the City of Auburn during normal times but in the midst of a pandemic it is clear we need to send representatives to Albany that are ready to get to work for us. In the race to fill the open seat in the 126th Assembly district the choice is clear and I am endorsing Dia Carabajal. Dia knows the issues facing us and she will get to work on our behalf on day one. With her experience on the school board and city council she knows the details of what we need to run local government. Having a representative with her experience will make a big difference, she will be our voice, our eyes and our ears at the State Capital because she already knows the challenges we face. Dia clearly has the experience that matters and I know she is the candidate best prepared to fight for all of us in Albany." 

Mayor Quill has been serving the city of Auburn since being first elected in 2007. He served the city as a firefighter for 32 years after serving in the United States Marine Corps. Mayor Quill is an active member of a number of committees. The Regional Economic Development Council, the State Workforce Investment Board, and the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority.

“Mayor Quill has always prioritized the city of Auburn and it’s people above all else” said Dia Carabajal. “I worked directly with him to secure the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) money for the city of Auburn, and he’s been an effective advocate for the region. Dia Carabajal is also endorsed by U.S. Senators Bernie Sanders (VT,) Charles Schumer (NY) and Kirsten Gillibrand (NY), as well as NYS Comptroller Tom DiNapoli.
